Travis Johns is a brilliant improviser and sound artist from San Francisco, Ca., currently he lives in San José, Costa Rica. His Songs of Cities in Jungles is a collection of seven recent improvisations for just-intoned digital synthesizers and audio feedback, as well as two tracks of digitally resynthesized field recordings conducted at volcanic sites throughout Costa Rica, in June 2011. In the case of the improvisations, all were recorded on 29.06.2011, mid-flight between Panama City and New York City - directly to tape with no alterations conducted afterwards -.
